Lili K. & Peter CottonTale Want To Take You On A 'Date'

It seems like Chicago songstress Lili K. always has something new up her sleeve. This time around, she's re-teamed with producer extraordinaire Peter CottonTale to remix "One Date," which can originally be found on last summer's A Prelude to Hello. The original (which was also produced by Peter) is a jazzy tune about Lili taking a chance on a guy by granting him his wish of one date. This update outfits the tune with a much more hip-hop feel as it bounces and stutters along with handclaps and spare keys, giving the song an almost entirely different feel. This is one time, though, where I feel like the remix pales in comparison to the original. Yes, the hip-hop edge does add a new dimension to "One Date," but it comes at the expense of its jazzy, fun charm, which I happened to love. Luckily, listeners don't really have to choose favorites. You can purchase the original version via Lili's Bandcamp page for just $1 (or buy the entire A Prelude to Hello EP for $7) and you can listen to the Peter CottonTale remix of "One Date" below (which Lili has also been kind enough to offer as a free download). And be on the lookout for Lili's next release, Metal Petals, which should be coming your way soon.
