Usher Gets 'Pumped Up'

While out promoting his seventh studio album, Looking 4 Myself, Usher blazed BBC's Radio 1 Live Lounge stage this week with an extra special cover of Foster The People's "Pumped Up Kicks." Radio 1 Live Lounge is known for producing some of the best and worst cover performances, from Sam Sparro's super soulful take on Estelle's "American Boy" to Katy Perry performing The Throne's "Ni--as In Paris." This week, with guitar in hand, Usher managed to add a hint of a rock and soulful edge to Foster The People's Billboard Hot 100 indie pop hit. This very well may be the smoothest performance we've seen from Usher this time around. Then again, at this point any performance where he doesn't make us suffer through his lackluster single "Scream" would be enjoyable.
