Jhené Aiko Offers A Touching Tribute To Her Sibling On 'For My Brother'

Losing someone close to you is always painful, especially if that someone is a sibling. Our hearts go out to up-and-coming singer and recent Def Jam signee Jhené Aiko, who recently lost her brother Miyagi to cancer at the age of 26 last week. Shortly before he passed away, Jhené recorded a song, "For My Brother," and was actually able to have someone play it for him shortly before his passing, according to her Tumblr:

i was so nervous to play it for him myself, so when i left to San Francisco on Thursday I had my TT play it for him....
She said his breath got calm as he listened and i know he heard every word ....
later that night he became the angel he was born to be and i am so grateful that he got to hear this before he left on his infinite journey....

It's a touching tribute to what her brother and his strength throughout his ordeal have meant to her. "You are more than just my brother/We grew up just like best friends/I know nothing lasts forever, but I don't want this to end," she sings before the song's refrain of "Don't give up." We here at SBHQ send our condolences to Jhené and her family and thank her for sharing something so beautiful and deeply personal with the world.
