Prince To Blow Into Windy City With 'Welcome 2 Chicago'

Just last night I saw Sheila E. and fDeluxe, aka the group formerly known as The Family, in concert and a few months ago I caught Morris Day and The Time live as well. What all of these shows had in common was how freaking awesome they were, and as everyone knows what all these artists have in common is the living legend that is Prince who I sadly haven't seen perform since the Musicology tour. I'm about to have a reversal of fortune, however, with today's announcement that His Royal Highness is coming to Chicago for a multi-date residency starting on Monday, September 24th. "Welcome 2 Chicago" is an extension of the Purple Yoda's "Welcome 2 America" tour that began in 2010 and has bounced around to various US cities and overseas to Canada and Australia. Now he's bringing his all-hits show back stateside to Chitown and will be performing with a purpose, having joined forces with Van Jones' Rebuild the Dream organization, which serves as a platform to fix the US and global economy in innovative, grassroots ways. So if you'd like to support a good cause and see a concert tour that you won't soon forget, make plans to join Prince at the United Center starting on September 24th for an as-yet-undisclosed run of shows. Tickets go on sale via Live Nation on Thursday, September 6th at 10 am CST. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a flight to Chicago to book.
