Tomeka Williams Has Some Words For You, 'Girlfriend'

Talk about coming out of nowhere. Twenty years after gifting us with a deliciously ridiculous rap about baby's ample back, Sir Mix-A-Lot is still around, producing artists through his label, Rhyme Cartel Records. I only know this because his artist, Tomeka Williams, just released the video for "Girlfriend," a track off of her 2010 album, The Black Hood. While the Tacoma, Washington singer primps in the mirror, we see the video's very married leading lady pawn her daughter off on a friend as she rushes her marriage to ruin by engaging in a sordid hotel romp with model/actor/singer Christian Keyes. She found out just how false of a statement "What he doesn't know won't hurt him" is when after being replaced by her boy toy's next chick, she rushed home only to find that her husband took their kid and left her with nothing but the dust that had gathered where their couches once stood. Neither side bends nor sit-ups were enough to help "Renee" keep her husband or garner sympathy from her girlfriend, Tomeka. There's a little more to the story, but you'll have to watch the video for the rest. Has the Sir found the right mix in Ms. Williams? Check out her pop-rock spiked soul sound and let us know if you like her style.
