Vivian Green Is 'Out There'

Years ago, Vivian Green sent me on an "Emotional Rollercoaster" with her debut album, A Love Story. I've tried, to no avail, to roll with her subsequent releases, but I like her voice, loved that first album and believe she still has something special to offer. With this belief in mind, I'd hoped for the best with her new single "Anything Out There." It turned out to be cool, but I knew the video had the potential to make it hot. Now that I've checked out the visual, I have to say I'm a little disappointed. In the vid, Green hits up the studio, excited and ready to hear the final mix of her new single. Looking cutesy with her blonde spiked cut, leather jacket, cropped shirt and fitted pants, she excitedly takes a seat at the console to listen to the final mix. During playback, we're treated to ample shots of the petite singer's cleavage and a few near misses while she awkwardly caresses her love interest. Back at the studio, Vivian's Philly peeps stop by to celebrate her record, and even SoulBounce fave Eric Roberson makes a cameo. After enduring more uncomfortable PDA between Green and her man's hand, we're treated to even more of her in a risqué white number with a plunging neckline down to there. Her career has apparently caused some strain in her relationship as she is shown attempting to date but unable to focus because she can't get over the fact that her ex is better "than anything out there." By the end, they get back together and all is well. Vivian looks fabulous, but I don't think the video does much to push the single forward. It may even set her back a few steps. She's a beautiful lady, but this image change seems like she's doing a bit too much. I sincerely hope her new album, The Green Room, brings forth beautiful new music when it is released on September 25th.
