Call me impatient, but I generally find the current trend of releasing teasers for music videos and singles to be a little on the annoying side. I honestly don't really see the point in creating a video to tell us to wait for the real video. Just release it already! It gets especially maddening when the song and/or video in question is something that is actually good, like in the case of this teaser from Anthony Nicholson and Jaidene Veda's "The Essence (Say Hey)." Soothing and mysterious, the short clip features only the naked silhouette of a woman (presumably Veda) as she takes a dip in a body of water. Clocking in at a little over two minutes long, the teaser provides just enough to tell that the song is another certifiable jam from the Chicago-based Nicholson. I wanted more of everything by the clip's end, including more of this soulful house deliciousness. Although I still long for the days when a full song was the teaser to the album as a whole, I guess this one served its purpose since it definitely made me anticipate the album's November release.
