Sy Smith's Fast and Curious is one of the better releases of 2012, which is definitely saying something, as 2012 has thrown up some great albums so far. Her '80's-inspired, Mark de Clive-Lowe-produced set is the perfect party starter, and one of the standout tracks was her cover of Billy Ocean's "Nights (Feel Like Getting Down)," featuring Rahsaan Patterson. The track itself is already dynamite, but the video accompaniment, directed and produced by Sy's husband Shawn Carter Peterson, takes things to a whole new level. Featuring Sy -- looking stunning may I add -- against various psychedelic backdrops (think Deee-Lite's "Groove Is In The Heart"), interspersed with footage of Sy and Rah prepping for a show, what the video lacks in the way of a story is certainly more than made up for by its fun factor.
