Hear A 'Sample' Of What Saunders Sermons Has To Offer On His New Album

It's been three long years since Saunders Sermons unleashed his Classic Delight EP on an unsuspecting public. The mix of covers and originals gained him a spot on our Bounce-Worthy list, and since then we have been keeping a close eye/ear out for new material from the talented producer/singer/songwriter/instrumentalist. He wowed us with us with his YahZarah duet, "You Got A Hold On Me" but, unfortunately the album didn't materialize. Then, last month we got wind that his long-awaited album, Just What She Needs, was finally ready for release, and we were treated to the appropriately timed single, "Stop The Rain." The album dropped this past Tuesday and Saunders has kindly shared another song from the 10-track set, the album's closer, "Sample Of Your Love." In a similar vein to "Stop The Rain," Saunders has gone for a smoother R&B feel on this song (and in fact the whole album), compared to his jazzy debut, but it definitely works. On this track his delivery reminds me of early Musiq Soulchild, with its woozy laid-back groove and smooth-as-silk vocals. My only complaint about the album is the fact that, clocking in at less than 35 minutes, it's all over so quickly.
