Jennah Bell Gets All The Way 'Live'

I live for live music. There is nothing like seeing and hearing musicians create music magic right before your eyes and ears. From larger-than-life arena shows to intimate coffee houses, I'm there for all of it. So when I was hipped to this new live album from relative newcomer Jennah Bell by my friends over at Okayplayer, my curiosity was more than piqued. Glowing were their advance reviews of her sophomore project, Live at Mother NY, and not just because it's a release on the newly relaunched Okayplayer Records but because it's a fine piece of work from the young singer/songwriter. A 23-year-old graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Bell is Oakland, California born and raised and her sound is not one to box in. The Live at Mother NY EP displays her songwriting abilities and unique vocals that are both soulful and folksy. The EP contains six songs recorded live this past August with only Bell backed by a two-piece band and a seventh bonus track, the studio recording "Monster Killer."
I highly suggest that you set aside the next 30 minutes or so to listen to the stream of Live at Mother NY after the bounce, and when you're done head on over to iTunes or Amazon to add this to your collection.
