'And I Am Telling You,' Jennifer Hudson Won The Academy Awards

No, I didn't travel back to 2007 to write this about Jennifer Hudson winning her Best Supporting Actress Oscar at that year's Academy Awards for her role as Effie White in Dreamgirls. Six years after that come up, JHud won once again on last night's Academy Awards telecast with a stunning performance of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going." Sandwiched between performances by Catherine Zeta-Jones singing "All That Jazz" from Chicago and the cast of Les Miserables live rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" during the Academy's tribute to musicals was Hudson, and she provided a show-stopping, near flawless moment of vocal greatness. Back in 2007, you couldn't throw a rock without hitting Jennifer singing this somewhere, but now that a few years have passed and audiences have had time to miss her performing this song, this was a welcome reprise. The svelte superstar may have lost a few pounds on Weight Watchers, but that voice hasn't gone anywhere. Now if Jennifer could release a non-mediocre album that lives up to her talent, she'd really be doing something. But I digress. Watch Jennifer's vocal magic/acrobatics act after the bounce.
