This week beatsmiths, lyricists, friends and fans all banned together in celebration of the life of fallen hip-hop legend J Dilla, on what would have been his 39th birthday. From the annual Dilla Day concert featuring Talib Kweli, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and Royce da 5'9" in Dilla's hometown of Detroit, Michigan to the clip of Karriem Riggins creating a golden memorial track, the hip-hop realm definitely rose to the occasion in honoring one of the greatest producers of our time. brandon*, rising producer and Florida-native, pitched in with an 18-minute EP that he calls Arts & Crafts. Within this short tribute, brandon* manages to remix classic Dilla records like "Look Of Love" and "Find A Way" as well as introduce a few brand new gems crafted out of love and admiration.
