As someone who's used to ripping and running around Monday through Friday, going at a glacial pace during the weekend is something I cherish. Adding as the backing soundtrack to my Saturday and Sunday simmer down is Lucille Ghatti's brand new EP, the aptly titled, Slow Matter. Claiming this to be a "random" release that is to be "taken lightly," Slow Matter is far from being slight as Ghatti's LA down-to-earth girl charm is exuded on this dreamy six-tracker with production by the likes of DJ Wes and Lekken Taylor. Featuring wall-to-wall slow jams, including already released "Ya Girl Lurks (Luv You Boi)," Slow Matter has Ghatti back to slipping into an Aaliyah state of mind and recalling the mellow '90's R&B gamut, all while still maintaining her own mysterious, come-hither vibe.
