'Every Day' Brings Something New From James Blake

Over the past few months, James Blake has quietly been launching an all-out assault on the music world as he prepares to drop his latest album, Overgrown. With the album's April 9th release just a few days away, he gifts fans with yet another leak from it in the form of the bonus track, "Every Day I Ran." Like most of his work, the song is a hauntingly beautiful blend of layers, reverbs and synths. Here, he builds the song around a vocal sample of rapper Big Boi taken from his 2008 song "Royal Flush." Though there isn't much in the way of actual vocals from Blake here, fans of his sparsely dense sound will still be pleased. "Every Day I Ran" isn't the only one on the album to feature a touch of American hip-hop. Wu-Tang Clan's RZA is featured alongside the brooding Brit on "Take A Fall For Me" which was also just leaked via Blake's Tumblr page. And if you need a Blake refresher course on what else to expect on Overgrown, then be sure to check out other offerings such as "Voyeur," "Digital Lion" and "Retrograde."
