It's a great feeling when you press play on a track, with zero expectations, and what you hear blows you away. That's pretty much how I felt when I pressed play on Tuesday Born's upcoming single, "Wake." Tuesday Born is the alias of jazz-based pianist, producer and vocalist, 21-year-old Londoner Gabriel Benn. He has released a handful of EPs with a sound that has been described as afro-house thanks to a penchant for incorporating traditional African rhythms and sounds into his brand of percussive electronica. However "Wake," which features vocals from Dnae, is a slight departure from his previous efforts, instead opting for a dreamier, Latin-influenced R&B soundscape, built around gentle percussion and swirling vocal samples. The track is featured on Tuesday's latest EP, Singing In The Dark, which is available now, and there are also remixes from Pàle and Two Inch Punch in the pipeline.
