Major Lazer Enlists The Roots & Dirty Projectors To ‘Free’ ‘Late Night’

The road to Major Lazer's Free the Universe has been one filled with delays and waiting. But, luckily for fans, the wait will soon be over on April 16th when the set finally drops. On the promotional trail, ML's Diplo and crew stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for a live rendition of the set's first single "Get Free." Tagging along for the ride are members of Dirty Projectors (whose Amber Coffman provides the track's vocals) and, of course, Late Night's house band The Roots. While this performance doesn't really add anything that can't be found on the original track (and I'm not sure how the super relaxing track went over with the show's surely sleepy demographic), the crew does an awesome job of recreating its mellow vibe for the audience. We'll get to see if Major Lazer is bringing something a bit more lively when Free the Universe drops next Tuesday. Get into the performance below.
