Press Play On Alice Russell & TM Juke's Selector Session

The fact that Alice Russell, and musical partner TM Juke, remain on the edge of greatness frustrates me. The duo have been creating music together for several years now, and their output has been nothing short of stellar. Yet the recognition and acclaim that seems to come so easy (and undeservedly) to many seems to elude them. With the release of Alice's most recent album, To Dust, the tide seems to be shifting ever so slightly, as people seem to be waking up to her talents at last. The British Council Arts program, The Selector, are the most recent to sit up and take notice, asking Russell and Juke along to perform an acoustic session to be broadcast on their radio station. The duo performed "Twin Peaks," the album's title track and lead single "Heartbreaker," and stripped back Alice's vocals are even more glorious. As an added bonus, and a nod to a nation who have really taken Alice into their hearts, you can hit the bounce to check out a session Alice did for France's Le Mouv online magazine, where she performs a spine-tingling rendition of the O.V. Wright classic, "Let's Straighten It Out."
