Wow! I didn't see this one coming, but now I have heard it, it makes perfect sense. Closing out her US tour with a stop at WNYC.org, Alice Russell performed a couple of tracks from her latest album, To Dust, plus a stunning cover of one of my favorite songs of 2013 so far, James Blake's "Retrograde." Accompanied by nothing but piano, Alice completely slays the track, showing off her impressive range and drenching the performance in emotion. Simply gorgeous.
