It's Hard Not To 'Love' This Boney James & Raheem DeVaughn Collaboration

It was love at first listen when I heard "Maker of Love" from three-time GRAMMY nominated saxophonist Boney James and SoulBounce fave Raheem DeVaughn. Little did I know the interesting back story of how the collaboration came to be. In a video clip recorded just before the two gave a recent live performance of the song, they explain how the exchange of direct messages through Twitter led to the ultra-smooth and sexy lead single from James' new album, The Beat. The track has helped propel the album to the top of Billboard's Jazz chart, and one watch of their performance will show you just why. Raheem DeVaughn's vocals were so on point that I wouldn't blame you if you mistook this performance for the original record. Count this little appetizer as yet another reason why we can't wait to get our fill of Mr. DeVaughn's A Place Called Love Land when it's released later this year.
