As we prepare to bid adieu to spring and enter the hazy days of summer, I'm already looking forward to the good food, good times and good music that often accompanies the season. The soundtrack of summer just got a whole lot more soulful thanks to new music from singer Peven Everett. The Chi-town bred vocalist is back with his latest album, King of Hearts, and if the preview of the lead singles are any indication, its sure to serve up plenty to groove to at all those cookouts and house parties you'll be attending. The a-side, "One Way Ticket," is an irresistible house number while its b-side partner, "I Just Wanna Make You Happy," is its smoother accompaniment. Both songs offer up healthy portions of the soulful vocals and foot-stomping grooves that have made Everett the underground legend that he is. And while I'll always scratch my head about why he isn't at the top of every music chart known to man, I'm still happy all the same that he's back with new tunes to keep us dancing.
