Stevie Wonder Gets The Randy Watson Treatment

This past Monday, the world celebrated the birth of one of its musical treasures, Stevland Hardaway Morris, known the world over by his stage name Stevie Wonder. The not-so-mysterious men behind The Randy Watson Experience (the Coming to America-inspired supergroup led by Questlove and James Poyser) decided the best way to pay their respects to the icon was by releasing remixes to two of his '70s-era gems: "Visions" (from Innervisions) and "You've Got It Bad Girl" (from Talking Book). Both mixes retain a lot of the original magic (as they were created from the guys playing atop the original tracks), only slightly tweaking the formulas to expand upon Stevie's genius. "Visions," for example, takes on a very slight drum 'n bass feel as modern percussion and dreamy instrumentation are added to the mix. "You've Got It Bad Girl," on the other hand, doesn't add much throughout the song outside of funkier drum groove...that is until an all-out jam session breaks out towards the end. If you're a Stevie fan -- and let's be honest, who isn't? -- then do yourself a favor and check out the Randy Watson refix of "Visions" below and "You've Got It Bad Girl" after the bounce.
