Gregory Porter Sounds Oh So 'Good' On NYC's Subway

While we await the third album from Gregory Porter in as many years, NPR chose to highlight one of the undeniable gems found on his 2012 set, Be Good. As part of their NPR Music Field Recording series, Gregory took to NYC's famed subway to perform "Be Good (Lion's Song)" backed by Chip Crawford on keys. Now, due to legal reasons, Porter didn't actually perform on a MTA train, but rather amongst the vintage memorabilia and reconditioned cars found at the New York Transit Museum, itself housed in a now abandoned subway station. Either way we are sure you will agree that Gregory's rich baritone sounds as amazing as we have come to expect, and the setting was a perfect fit for his throwback, jazz-meets-soul sound. Kick back and enjoy.
