For me, Janet Jackson's "Any Time, Any Place" was always the standout track on her classic 1993 album, janet. She switched from politically-oriented music on previous albums to a straight up "I'm discovering my sexuality at 27" focus. We all knew that songs like "That's the Way Love Goes," "If" and the Academy Award-nominated "Again" would be hits, but it was "Any Time, Any Place" that really showed us what Janet's development looked and sounded like. Producer/multi-instrumentalist starRo has taken the bedroom banger and added some extra bass, stank and hip-hop flavor to the slow burner. Treat yourself and descend into the end of the week with this fresh take on this body roll-inducing classic.
