We all know this old music biz is a tricky game, especially if you are an independent artist grinding to keep your head above water. Such struggles inevitably lead to delays in releasing new music, especially when your priorities are putting food on the table and keeping the lights on. However, as they say, the cream rises to the top. Thankfully that old adage holds true for future-soul songstress Dezaray Dawn whose oft-delayed debut album The Dawning is finally hitting digital shelves on July 31st. Her duo of EPs, Chameleon and Deep, showcased her forward-thinking musical approach, combining elements of broken beat, house, soul and jazz, all wrapped up in her warm, soothing vocals, and now we can get a taste of the main event with the album's promo video below. I can't think of a better way to kick off the second half of 2013.
