K. Michelle Keeps It Real On 'I Don't Like Me'

Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star K. Michelle, known for her hilarious one-liners, plethora of wigs and dramatic stunts on the hit VH1 reality show, is on a campaign to let people know that there's more to her than what you see on TV. To that end, the singer has made sure to release a steady stream of music leading up to her debut album, Rebellious Soul, due to drop on August 13th. One such song is the hard-hitting ballad "I Don't Like Me," which tackles the topic of low self-esteem, an issue that many young women (and few older broads) struggle with. The song itself is a subdued piece of work, with K. Michelle dialing it back but still providing a strong vocal while backed only by a piano. The accompanying visual complements the song nicely with K. singing while sitting alone in an artwork-filled room with alternating scenes of a couple having sex and the young lady looking very detached in the midst of the act and disgusted with herself afterwards. The female lead is so unhappy that she may have even taken drastic measures to stop feeling that way by the end of the video. That's open to interpretation, but what isn't up for debate is that "I Don't Like Me" is probably realer than anything K. Michelle has ever done on reality TV.
