The Weeknd Takes Us Deeper Into His 'World'

Where The Weeknd's first video from his upcoming Kiss Land went for an exoticized (and X-rated) look at Japan and Japanese culture, his latest clip for "Belong to the World" goes almost the exact opposite direction. In the nearly eight-minute clip, we find the Canadian crooner immersed in a stark Japan that matches the industrial feel of the song itself. Interestingly enough, despite the austere mood of the clip and the slight coldness of the music, a beautiful interpretive dance takes center stage. How is this to be interpreted along with the song's lyrics about letting love go despite one's desire to keep it captive? Well, I think that's up to viewer to interpret. And you can do exactly that as you watch the video below.
