Tennessee-based trio BASECAMP made quite the impression with their debut single "Emmanuel" and now, as promised, they have delivered their self-titled four-track EP. "2 Thingz" carries straight on from where "Emmanuel" left off, but this time casting aside the deep sub-bass for something a little more melodic but equally as haunting. "Rydia" is probably the set's highlight, featuring impassioned vocals, skittering percussion and distorted BVs, but Smoke Filled Lungs" comes in a close second as the trio lay their feelings bare about a relationship that has turned sour. BASECAMP is the latest act to enter a crowded and ever-growing field, but with their ear for a strong, engaging beat and soulful vocals, we are hoping they rise to the top.
