Let me be honest. Upon first hearing the latest installment in Drake's musical telenovela, I immediately thought it would sound better if it featured a serious singer. "Hold On, We're Going Home," the latest single off of his forthcoming Nothing Was The Same, is a strong '80's-inspired number that is basically begging to be conquered by the likes of MNEK or Jesse Boykins III. Fortunately for us all, Dev Hynes aka Blood Orange took a stab at it last night "just for fun" and is now offering a listen via SoundCloud. Hynes' rendition is filled with just the right amounts of reverb, funk and mystique, as we would expect. If this is the product of fun and down time, Lord only knows what he will be cooking up for future releases when he gets serious.
