"We do it big in Texas," is how Bishop T.D. Jakes is promoting his annual MegaFest and based on the high-powered lineup, he is not playing. For three days celebrities ranging from singers, actors, athletes and comedians will join Bishop Jakes for the star-studded festival in Dallas, Texas. The point of the MegaFest is to empower and inspire, and from August 29th-31st the religious family festival can look forward to appearances from Jennifer Hudson (who will screen her long-delayed Winnie Mandela film Winnie, which finally hits theatres on September 6th), Tamar
Braxton, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Mary Mary, Vickie Winans, Kim Burrell and Kierra Sheard, to name a few. But that's not all; Steve Harvey will return to MegaFest to host the Woman of Purpose concert and R&B songstress Brandy will perform at the concert benefitting Autism Speaks and recognizing two families with autistic children. Some of the family-friendly activities include Oprah's Lifeclass, the inaugural International Faith & Family Film Festival, the Just Churchin' Comedy Show, the Ball Up Streetball Classic Tour Championship and additional empowerment programming. Check out the MegaFest website for more information and to see and which of your favorite pastors and stars will be in attendance. Oh hi, Boris Kodjoe.
