Jacques Greene Tunes Into Donna Summer’s ‘Radio’

After being blown away over Chromeo and Oliver's take of "Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger)," you bet I was eager to take in the latest leak to come from the upcoming Donna Summer remix tribute project. Up to bat now is Jacques Greene's spin on Summer's 1979 classic "On The Radio." While I appreciate the experimentation of a moody tribal meditation that Greene has going on here, my problem with this remix is that the original song itself is buried in the static rhythms and barely gets a chance to breathe. "On The Radio" is probably my all-time favorite song from the late singer, so maybe I'm being overly precious about it, but Greene's take cancels out the song and its torch pop essence way too much for my taste for me to really grab a feeling for it. Still this little speed bump won't get in the way of me looking forward to what else is in store on the Love To Love You Donna compilation when it drops October 22nd, and you can check after the bounce to see the full roster of tracks and artists that are on board for this highly anticipated project.
