Janelle Monáe Wakes & Funks Up The 'Today' Concert Series

Janelle Monáe's big The Electric Lady release week continues, which means more performances and appearances to satisfy all of her fandroids out there. After commandeering The Late Show with David Letterman earlier this week with an energetic performance of "Dance Apocalyptic," this morning she served up some more soul and funk to the Today audience for their Today Concert Series. Once again singing "Dance Apocalyptic," she proclaimed "I am the electric lady, and I am your morning coffee!" at the start of the song and launched into another fun, footloose and fancy free joyride of a performance. There were no chairs nor desks for her to jump on, but that didn't stop little Miss Monáe from getting on the good foot on and off the stage. She even took some time to show love to the fans in attendance with some comical interactions. Although "Dance Apocalyptic" is my least favorite song on The Electric Lady, these recent performances have been tops. Take a gulp of Janelle's big old cup of joe and get your caffeine rush; it's better than a 5-Hour Energy shot.
