R&B Stars Shine On Screen & In Song In 'The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister & Pete'

First of all, if this movie trailer doesn't pull at your heartstrings, I don't know what will. George Tillman, Jr. of Soul Food and Notorious fame directed new flick The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete, which starts its theatrical run today. Mister & Pete is a story about two young boys who are forced to survive the gritty New York City streets with next to nothing. *insert violins here* You can catch Jennifer Hudson in a unique role as a deadbeat mom and drug addict. The rest of the cast is equally impressive. Jordin Sparks, Jeffrey Wright, Anthony Mackie and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje help young stars Ethan Dizon and Skylan Brooks deliver a guaranteed tearjerker. And guess who serves as executive producer? None other than the NYC queen herself, Alicia Keys. She also provides the new song "Better Me, Better You," which is a catchy declaration of strength and salvation that will make you feel better about life and goes perfectly with Mister and Peete's story, for the movie's soundtrack. If you buy your ticket via Fandango, then you can get a free download of "Better Me, Better You." Will you go and catch The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete this weekend or nah? If you need anymore convincing that this film is worth your time, get your tissues ready and check out the trailer and Alicia's song after the bounce.
