Najee & Meli'sa Morgan Put Us In The 'Mood'

While smooth jazz and R&B are separate entities to their fans, when they come together, there is the potential for sweet bliss. No better example is in the work of Najee. Since Najee's Theme in 1986, he has created some legendary collaborations with the likes of Prince, Patti LaBelle, Phyllis Hyman and Chaka Khan among others. For his #1 Billboard contemporary jazz album The Morning After: A Musical Love Journey he recruits the songstress Meli'sa Morgan for the slow burning "In the Mood To Take It Slow." This lyric video features pictures from the two legends over the course of their careers. While many haven't heard from nor seen Ms. Morgan in some time, she is absolutely on fire in this collaboration with Najee's sweet saxophone. She also still looks great if the most recent pictures are any indication. The lush production makes this track sound especially sweet and made just for grown folks while even appealing to younger fans of jazz and R&B. I imagine this song sounding even better live; let's hope that we hear about a joint tour soon. In the meantime, get ready to have this seductive track stuck on repeat.
