Spend A 'Merry Little Christmas' With Mary J. Blige

Since we've been getting in the holiday spirit since August, why not just bump Thanksgiving altogether and jump straight to Christmas. While that previous sentence was meant to be sarcastic, it does seem like we're celebrating Christmas earlier and earlier every year, and with that always comes a slew of Christmas-themed albums from your favorite artists. Mary J. Blige's A Mary Christmas was released October 15th, but we're just now getting visuals for her take on the holiday classic "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas." While Mary's take on the song is a fairly decent one, the video for the track is...well...lacking a bit of holiday cheer. Mainly focusing on the diva, who sports an all-white ensemble and a silver-and-gold sequined get-up in the clip, the clip treats us to Mary emoting for the camera like her life depended on it (and not much else). The uneventful visuals paired with the song's slow pacing pretty much guarantee that you won't make it too far through the clip's four-and-a-half minutes before you'll be asleep with visions of sugarplums dancing in your head. If you were looking for a tranquil holiday-themed video (or have been having trouble sleeping lately), you can check out Mary serving sleepy yuletide realness after the bounce.
