Durand Bernarr is an artist who consistently makes me display my best stank face whenever I hear him sing. This man will turn you into a believer with his vocal skills alone. You can imagine my excitement when I caught wind of the sampler for his upcoming EP Anxiety. The Internet sensation turned Erykah Badu background singer has been busy touring as a part of her band Neda Stella. In the midst of everything, the Ohio native wrote and arranged his latest project, and today he released "Ultraviolet," the first single from Anxiety. "Ultraviolet" can be purchased from iTunes now, and a snippet can also be heard on the EP sampler. Listening to the Anxiety sampler was a treat. In true Duran style, the EP gives us nostalgic realness by channeling '80s divas and '90s crooners. His ability to travel effortlessly from one vocal range to the next reminds us why he's a part of Badu's clique and why his fan base continues to grow.
