We bet few people thought that the single "Blurred Lines" would blow up nationwide and propel Robin Thicke to the status of a mainstream pop superstar. Maybe fewer thought that the album of the same title would live up to the single. Blurred Lines, a mix of classic Robin Thicke ballads and feel-good dance grooves, brought life to the bedroom and the dance floor. Even through a God-awful performance with Miley Cyrus on MTV, a controversy over the rapey lyrics of "Blurred Lines" and a copyright claim from Marvin Gaye's estate took some of the luster from the single, the album still stands as one of the most notable R&B offerings of the year. -- JC3
