Oddisee strikes again with another excellent production on his remix of Ladi6's "Diamonds." His touch remixes the feel of the original from an upbeat active vibe to a smooth groove to ride home to after a long day's work. Oddisee is careful not to dilute the meaning of the song by packing a ton instruments into the track. Instead, he uses intentional repetition of sounds to mesh with Ladi6's sultry warm tone. The track and her voice are not exactly a perfect match. However, the style of his flow pours easily in between her vocals making the track more than enjoyable. This reflection on societal woes as related to coping with pop culture pressure has its necessary space on everyone's playlist. As of now, New Zealander Ladi6 only has one upcoming concert date in the US in New York City. NYC Bouncers should mark your calendars to check her out at S.O.B.'s on March 13, 2014.
