Can We Just 'Forget' About This Shakira & Rihanna Song?

Shakira And Rihanna Single Cover

It’s been quite some time since the music world has heard from Colombian pop-star Shakira. Although her last album Sale el Sol was released in 2010, many music consumers haven’t heard from her since 2006 when she was gyrating with Wyclef Jean for her hit single “Hips Don’t Lie” and joining forces with Beyoncé for “Beautiful Liar.” After signing a multi-million dollar deal with Live Nation and spending some time on the judging panel of NBC’s The Voice, the Latin seductress is attempting to make her big return, this time with a little help from Rihanna on her new single “Can’t Remember to Forget You.” Visually, this collaboration is quite alluring. From the looks of the cover art, this song will be accompanied by an expensive and overhyped yet eye-catching music video. Too bad the song itself is a generic pop tune that finds the two ladies so deeply in love with their suitors that they can’t seem to remember how much they need to let go. Ultimately, it's all quite forgettable. Shakira’s yet-to-be-titled eighth studio album is scheduled to hit stores this coming March.
