Ms Murphy Forms A ‘Union’ Of Soul & Pop On This Little Dragon Cover

We labeled soul chanteuse Miss Murphy as Bounce-Worthy back in 2012, thanks in part to her sensual rendition of The Isley Brothers “Between The Sheets.” In the year or so since then, there’s been an appearance on Australia’s version of TV show The Voice, the dropping of a few letters from her name (she's now known as Ms Murphy) and now a new EP, White Dress and the Spirit, set to be released that has seen Ms Murphy work with Lance Ferguson of The Bamboos fame. To set things off Ms Murphy has taken Little Dragon’s hit “Ritual Union,” wiped away its bright synth heavy electro-pop gleam and replaced it with a vintage brass-filled rhythm and blues styling. Ms Murphy’s take on “Ritual Union” is as captivating as the original but with the addition of lashings of soul, while the music video for the number sees Murphy looking fabulous -- all curly hair and gold hoops -- with her band jamming in a bar that oozes speakeasy vibes.
