Flawless. Fabulous. Fantastic. Those are just a few of the words that come to mind when we think back to Whitney Houston’s first live performance on the GRAMMY stage at the 28th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 1986. That night Houston was up for three GRAMMY Awards, and she eventually took home the statue for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female for “Saving All My Love For You,” which after seeing her perform that very track proved that there was no other choice to be made. Whitney was radiant in red as she commanded the stage perched high atop a set of stairs. All eyes and ears were on her, and if you weren’t in love with Whitney Houston before this you definitely fell under her beguiling spell by the time she hit her final note.
