MNEK is the King of Refixes. Let’s just start there. UK’s youngest vocal ruler has been flipping tunes for quite some time now, and his takes often sound better than the originals. This week he decided to drop something just for kicks, giggles and “lolz” yet still managed to offer something stronger than many of his contemporaries’ recent releases. Remember Lumidee? No? Well, you will at least remember her one hit record “Never Leave You (Uh Oh),” and after MNEK’s done you’ll love it more than ever before. Transforming the 2003 Harlem street anthem into a dance-pop jam laced with his signature vocals, the British crooner will certainly have you up on your feet grooving to this epic new take. Here’s to hoping the world is finally blessed with a debut album from the 19-year-old prodigy this year.
