To celebrate his upcoming SXSW showcase in Austin, Texas this March, 8th Grader is releasing some b-sides and rarities from his vault. These tracks are songs that he only used to perform live, but he decided to record and package them up on the forthcoming EP, Selected Rarities. He posted the first of three songs that he'll be dropping in coming weeks on SoundCloud, and it's a departure from the mellow smooth alt-R&B sounds we've come to expect from him. Instead, 8th Grader gives us a new wave feel on "You Deserve It All" on a song with a catchy chorus that he describes as Sly and the Family Stone meets Outkast. We appreciate how 8th Grader has flipped his own script on this track and can't wait to hear what other tricks he has up his sleeve.
