Lauryn Hill Gives A Little 'Something' To David Letterman

Lauryn Letterman Something

Since her release from prison after serving time for tax invasion charges,  Ms. Lauryn Hill has been making strides that show that she might just be in comeback mode. Her latest step toward the comeback tour was a recent appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. She wasn't there to perform any new or original material, however. She came as part of the week-long tribute to The Beatles, leading up to CBS' broadcast of The Night That Changed America: A GRAMMY Salute to The Beatles (which aired last night and was rather good TV). Still, her choice of the The Beatle's "Something" was spot on for Ms. Hill, and she handled the song as if she had written it herself. With a full band behind her, she delivered a stirring rendition of the track with touches of R&B and even a little reggae sprinkled throughout for good measure. It was nice enough, in fact, that I wouldn't mind seeing this on a tracklist for any upcoming new project she decides to drop (if that should ever occur, of course). If you want to see what Lauryn can do with a little "Something," sit back, relax and press play.
