Every year I sit at home or at a sports bar watching the NBA All-Star Game mad as hell that I'm not there. Not for the actual game mind you, but for the bevy of R&B and hip-hop acts that are trotted out to perform. This year's All-Star Game festivities were no different with a number of SoulBounce faves taking the stage all weekend. Tipping things off at Sunday's Sprint Pregame Concert in New Orleans was Mack Wilds to perform his song "Own It," the lead single from his GRAMMY -nominated album, New York: A Love Story. Possessing a swagger reminiscent of a young LL Cool J, Mack strode on stage rocking a Kevin Garnett Brooklyn Nets jersey and bucket hat. He had the look, but more importantly he had the voice, impressing with the fact that he was actually singing live. He confidently worked the stage while four dancers put in work behind him. He got the crowd hyped and the live audience seemed to really dig his performance. They weren't the only ones.
