MeLa Machinko Sings For 'Employment' At 'Essence' Magazine

Mela Machinko Performing For Essence

While MeLa Machinko is far from new to us, she’s definitely got next and we’re glad to see that Essence magazine is now on board. The Brooklyn bombshell sat down with Essence this week to introduce herself to the world and showcase her luscious vocals. Singing “Employment,” an anthem that many Americans can unfortunately relate to, Machinko bared her all with every growl and wail. “It ain’t right. I shouldn’t have to live this way,” she sang. The retro-soul inspired tune comes off of her 9AM Blues EP, which she unleashed back in December and features production from Mr. Len and Vandalyzm. We’ve watched her go from flipping classic Jay Z verses to churning out her own original masterpieces, and we can’t wait to see what’s next on her musical journey. Download MeLa Machinko’s 9 AM Blues EP off of Bandcamp today and see why we’re all so in love with her.
