You may recall that back in 2012 SoulBounce Senior Editor SoulUK brought the soul compilation Soulfinger – Life, Love & Passion to our attention. Full of covers by indie soul artists of B-side gems from soul's golden era, the album appeared out of nowhere with no word about a release before it then vanished. Well, a year and half later the compilation has a release just as mysterious as its arrival. The compilation will not be released via the usual outlets, instead it’s being offered through Kickstarter until April 2014, with soul lovers able to purchase the unique album as a limited edition, hand-numbered collector item on CD or vinyl only. Nowadays music is readily available digitally and often feels quite disposable, so it’s refreshing to see a project being treated as something to be handled with care and to treasure.
