The past few months have seen Mali Music take a leap into an even bigger spotlight with a televised performance on American Idol and even a nod from legendary diva Chaka Khan. His takeover continues this week as he landed a gig performing his latest single “Beautiful” on The Queen Latifah Show today. Singing a song dedicated to his friends, family and supporters, the Savannah, Georgia native certainly blessed the people with his undeniable vocals and stage presence.
Along with this major stage moment came a brief interview, which included the announcement that his new album Mali Is… will finally be dropping this coming June and a much-anticipated response to the claim that he has transitioned from gospel music to R&B. “I didn’t switch. I reached a ceiling of what’s known to be gospel music and God allowed me to do it mainstream," he said eloquently.
