The Roots and Raheem DeVaughn on a song together? Yes, yes again and yes some more for this collab that seems plucked from SoulBounce's wish list of "Collaborations That Need To Happen." Don't be fooled by The Roots' top billing, however. As quiet is kept, this is more like a Raheem DeVaughn song with the Legendary Roots Crew taking a back seat on the production and simply providing the instrumentation to accompany the singer's soulful croon. There are no hot 16's from Black Thought and no hip-hop beat in earshot of the stripped-down, piano-driven tune that finds DeVaughn once again giving shades of late-'80s Prince as he sings about finding your happy place today.
"Tomorrow" is the second song that we've gotten to hear off of The Roots' upcoming album ...and then you shoot your cousin, which will hit the streets on May 19th. This song has a similar sonic feel to the first single "When the People Cheer," and we can't wait to hear how these singular puzzle pieces fit together to tell the album's story.
