The top eight contestants performed on The Voice Monday night, but everyone really tuned in to see next season’s new judges take the stage.

Pharrell and Gwen Stefani each made an appearance during the reality singing competition. Gwen was up first, but instead of pulling out a new song from some forthcoming project, she dipped back into the catalog to sing her signature track, “Hollaback Girl.” It was 2005 all over again as Stefani hyped the crowd with the pom-pom anthem while backed by a bevy of dancers. Appropriately, Pharrell — who helped write and produce the cut — appeared toward the end of the “bananas” performance to support his longtime collaborator.

Meanwhile, Pharrell went solo — in a non-scene-stealing hat but questionable Mickey Mouse sweater — and rocked through verses and choruses of G I R L's “Come Get It Bae.” His falsettos guided the dancers shared with “Hollaback Girl,” who energized the flirtatious ditty with their choreography. Backup singers momentarily stepped into Pharrell’s spotlight as he demanded the girls in the audience scream — and to try and sit still.

It was quite the party having the two superstars present and a nice teaser for what their addition to The Voice panel — alongside Adam Levineand Blake Shelton — will look like.
