Janelle Monáe Takes A Stand Against Bullying In 'Heroes'

About a month ago Janelle Monáe debuted her future soul-ed out cover of the David Bowie classic "Heroes" in tie with Pepsi's global Beats of the Beautiful Game campaign, and now the track's visuals are getting to do the talking. Or rather some serious talking, as the Young Astronauts-directed video intelligently deals with bullying through the eyes of children. Still what will put a smile on your face is that after being inspired by the Electric Lady herself, the tormented kids decide to fight back as they don their own DIY superhero gear and confront their bullies head on. No guns are raised and no punches are thrown, just a good ol' fashion stare down is given and it's enough to make the bullies cowardly race away as the visual fades out with the powerful message: "Being your own hero is being yourself." Inspirational indeed. Monáe and her "Heroes" will be in good company on the Beats of the Beautiful Game LP, as the likes of Santigold, Rita Ora and Timbaland are also present. You can pre-order the album via iTunes or wait until its June 10th debut.

Oh and I don't know about you, I'd pay some good money for a Janelle Monáe comic book.
